State of the Art Technology
Computerised Infrared Thermography Scanner
One aspect that makes Atlas Chiropractic unique is we use scientific data from our state- of-the-art technology to make decisions. This is done to ensure we’re continuously doing the best thing for you and providing a high standard of care.
The state-of-the-art technology used is called Computerised Infrared Thermography scan (CIT). It measures differences in skin temperature along the spine and this gives us information on what’s working (and what’s not) in your nervous system.
It also has no radiation, making it completely safe and effective for everyone.
From measuring something as simple as skin temperature provides an insight into the function of the autonomic (think automatic) part of your nervous system.
The automatic part of our nervous system has the biggest influence on our health and life, it controls EVERYTHING. Examples of what it controls that automatically happen are; breathing, heart rate, immunity, digestion, healing & repair, hormone cycles, energy, sleep, mood, and skin temperature.
Just like many doctors use different tests, like taking your blood pressure, to gain information about you and your health, specific chiropractors use Thermography scans. We use this technology at your first visit and every subsequent visit to check how well your nervous system is functioning and is it within normal, healthy ranges.
It also allows us to monitor change and healing.
In medicine, thermography is currently used in a variety of areas including joint diseases, arthritis, cancer detection (especially when looking for breast cancer), neurology, physiotherapy and sports medicine. CIT is a version of this technology. If there are big differences in the skin temperature along the spine it indicates that the normal messages coming down from the brain and brainstem are not arriving to all the areas of the body that they are supposed to. This results in a lack of control of that part of the body.
We use this technology when you first visit us to most importantly check that everything is working correctly. The CIT allows us to
accurately measure the improvements happening in your nerve system each time you are in the practice.
