What Is Chiropractic and why might it be right for you?
Chiropractic is the essential relationship between your nervous system and the structural integrity of your spine.
We know that the nervous system controls every organ, cell, muscle and function of the body. From birth to death, the nervous system continuously allows the body to grow, heal, adapt, regenerate and self-regulate.
The spine has a very important job protecting the spinal cord and allowing the nerves to exit the cord and travel to all parts of the body.
Over time we can experience repetitive physical stresses that can include anything from a car accident to a sedentary lifestyle. These can all add up and cause stress to our spine and nerve system.
This is when we see a breakdown in how well our body is able to function and perform. Our body can give us signs such as poor health, pain, lack of energy, broken sleep, that wired-but-tired feeling, poor digestion and so on. All these signs indicate that body is not functioning at its best.
Chiropractic analyses the spine to assess the nervous system. We make specific corrections to the top of the spine exactly where needed. This then allows our nervous system to function better and begin the journey to a better state of health.
What is a Chiropractic adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, safe correction that’s made to the spine. The chiropractor uses their hands to exert a gentle force that will contact a specific vertebra in the spine at a precise angle. Although the main focus is the spine and pelvis we analyse and take in the whole body and how all parts communicate and connect to one another.
What if I’m not in pain?
Some believe chiropractic is to help people with neck and back pain. This is partially true but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Many seek chiropractic care for lots of health issues and even when they feel well. This is all due to the fact we are analysing and enhancing your nervous system, allowing your body to function and perform at a higher level
We measure whether your nerve system could be functioning better through our state-of-the-art technology – the thermograph scanner. This will provide information on whether your body is adapting, functioning well or could be performing and communicating better.
How do I book an appointment?
Your first initial consultation is an hour. A detailed case history is taken followed by a thorough examination and a thermograph nervous system scan. This appointment is £130.
If X-rays are deemed necessary you will be referred out for them and the results will be explained on the second visit which is the Report of Findings. Xrays are a total of £130 which includes a detailed report from a radiographer.
The Report of Findings is second visit and is 45 minutes long. A detailed explanation of all the results and a plan is discussed followed by the first adjustment. Regular visits are £65 and discounted packages are available.
What is a Thermography scan?
We measure how your nerve system is functioning through our state-of-the-art technology – the thermograph scanner. This will provide information on whether your body is adapting, functioning well or could be performing and communicating better.
Thermography does not use radiation, which is why it is safe to use this modality on children, pregnant women and all of ages.
